Zoi directed Mexico's oldest symphony orchestra, Xalapa Symphony Orchestra

Friday the 17th , 8:30 p.m., in the main hall, the Xalapa Symphony Orchestra accompanied by the guest conductor Zoi Tsokanou presented a gala concert with the melody of “Yanni Giannidis / Georgina Derbez / Louise Farrenc”.

The Orquesta Sinfónica de Xalapa was founded in 1929, and is considered the oldest symphony orchestra in Mexico.

Martín Lebel, principal conductor of the symphonic organization, said: "Little by little we will open this field to women", since it will not only have female composers, but also guest conductors such as Zoi Tsokanou, the first woman to conduct a major Greek orchestra, and Consuelo Bolio, an academic at the Faculty of Music of the UV.
